Nautical {Feeling Crafty}

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // nautical card featuring ship, waves in the ocean and treasure life sentiment

My dear friend and fellow crafter Danni made the most adorable card and posted it at her blog, {Made In} Apt 14. The card was in response to the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge – Feeling Nautical, a new challenge to me, but super inspiring.

Low and behold, my sister-in-law Gina and I were inspired by the nautical theme and made this whimsical, boyish card!

The ship was cut out of plain white cardstock using the “Under the Sea” design card on my Slice Elite (love that machine!), then masked and stamped with two different stamps – a whimsical one on the sails and a woodgrain on the boat, using Distress Inks in Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain. Swipes of Distress Stain in Broken China and Tumbled Glass we used on the background, a top the clear embossed whimsical stamp representing the rocky waves of the ocean. The “Treasure Life” sentiment is from Close to My Heart, and it was tied off with some Twinery Twine in Cappuccino.

It’s my first time participating in a card challenge. There were some amazing cards linked and I’m really excited to check ’em out!

Are there any challenges that have inspired you recently? Photo or crafting? I’d love to see, so share a link in the comments below! Thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
Live creatively!
