Sometimes it’s a word, or emotion, or color scheme, or challenge that inspires me to create a card. Usually it’s an event, like a birthday, that makes me dash to my creative space and play with colorful paper and distressed inks and pretty embellishments. Today, I was inspired by The Play Date Cafe’s color challenge – It’s a {splash} of Neon!
I first heard about the Play Date Cafe through the Scrap Happy community, but this is the first time I’m participating in one of their card challenges. As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew what I wanted to make!
As much as I loved neon during the ’80’s (mismatched neon socks, anyone?!), I haven’t jumped on the craze this time around, not even in my crafting supplies. So I decided to use a sunshiny yellow instead, but I love the way it came out nonetheless!
Did you notice the cute alphabet tabs that look like the ever popular mini alphabet stickers? Those adorable stamps are from a local stamp company – Sweet Stamp Shop. Love the quality and designs in their stamps! And as I’ve mentioned before, I really do love supporting small / local businesses. Check out the great goodies over there!
What challenges do you love playing along with? Let me know in the comments below! I’m loving the inspiration they provide! Thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
Live creatively!
