My cousin Sammy (er, um, Sam) was married a couple weekends ago, and I loved the beauty in the simplicity of these rustic cakes. But let me tell you… one taste and it was ALL decadence! Red Velvet anyone? Yum, yum, yum! I just might have to pay him and his beautiful bride a visit on their one year anniversary to steal a bite of that yumminess all over again!

    • Thank you! These cake shots were taken at my cousins wedding and the cake table was already set – surprisingly, all four cakes were on a smaller table, about the size of a card table! Besides food shots at home that I can “play with” and stage, I just work with the setting as is. Walking around, finding the light, playing with angles and wide apertures. I think my early newlywed years of learning to cook watching The Food Network and loving all things in the Crate & Barrel, Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn catalogs has influenced the way I photograph : ) Thanks again for the lovely comments!
