My sister and brother-in-law made the most beautiful and handsome little boy, ever! I was lucky enough to be there when my nephew was born, August 19th. There are only two other times I was that close to a new life coming into the world — those two times were when my daughters were born! It was such an amazing experience… the love, the joy, the anticipation, the awe – truly amazing!

I was thrilled to capture these images in those first few hours of the new family trio! He came a couple weeks early, but he’s absolutely perfect, don’t you think?!?!

He was super quiet, taking in the world, surrounded by love and family. There was only one little cry when he got his first shots…

I know, I know, baby boy! I would’ve cried too! I’ll spare you the details of my sister’s labor and delivery. I’ll just say she was the definition of calm and she made the delivery look easy!

PS. The top photo – the one of my bro-in-law holding the baby with my sis in the background? I was totally inspired by a photo that I pinned on my Photo Session Inspiration board while they were pregnant. I’m so happy with the way it came out – definitely one of my faves of this year!
