An absolute San Diego gem, I truly love photographing everything and anything at Balboa Park! Besides the plethora of fantastic museums, enjoying the gardens and architecture can fill an entire day. Anytime I can escape my daily obligations and carve out time to enjoy the sights at Balboa Park is a blessed day – I’ve certainly shared many of those photos here. The park is usually bustling with visitors, photographers, runners, artists, musicians, and so much more!
When spending time at the park, I’m able to take it in and reflect on so much in life. Whether I’m in a museum, taking in the beauty in the brushstrokes, or mastery in sculptures, or brilliance in photographs, or forethought in architecture, it all gives me the time to reflect on the gifts of life: gifts of time, gifts of art, gifts of friends and family, gifts of love. Sometimes I only have time to reflect on how little time I have, but I try to savor what I have as opposed to obsess on what I don’t have. That’s just my personality! What have you reflected on lately? I’d love to see and/or hear, so let me know in the comments!
The Daily Post weekly photo challenge: Reflections was a perfect opportunity to dig these up from the archives. Check out other “reflections” here, or my past photo challenge submissions here.
As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
Live creatively!

Just stumbled across your blog and will certainly be back again and again. Photography and crafting are two activities I need more of in my life! I am a San Diego native and forever in love with “my” Balboa Park, which we always refers to as “THE Park.” You capture it so beautifully!

So funny that there was another photo almost identical to this. I saw your comment about it, too. Both lovely, though. 🙂

Oh Kayla, you are going to love it here! Enjoy your visit, and if there’s any questions you have, feel free to shoot them my way! PS. If you do head to Balboa Park, do yourself a favor and dine at El Prado in the park, or Cucina Urbana across the bridge off Laurel. Yum! Neither will disappoint : )

Great! Thanks so much 🙂 Its going to be a “free for all” road trip so I will definitely take your advise and check out El Prado or Cucina Urbana! We are heading from BC down to San Fran, LA and then San Diego is our last stop before we head back to BC!

What a fun trip! As a kid, I did that trip (but from SoCal to BC) with my family! Hearst Castle was always one of my favorite stops on that route – even took our girls there and blogged about (https://clickychickcreates.com/?s=Hears&submit=Search)! Enjoy the journey!
