As a kid, I loved liquados and my girls continue the tradition loving smoothies! We make them all the time, but for this LOAD514 (layout a day) with the prompt of “taste sensation,” I chose to use these photos from a couple summers ago since we included step-by-step smoothie making photos and our pooch Fletchie (RIP) was hanging with the girls as usual in the yard. I had so many photos, I decided to make a mirrored double page spread. Using butterfly masks and mists was a great way to cover lots of space, but compliment the patterned papers and embellies I was already using. In the journaling, I added ingredient lists for both liquados and smoothies in case my girls want to make them for their babies one day!

What did you love to eat as a kid that you still love now? Mine pretty much includes anything with sugar πŸ™‚ Outside of sweet treats, I always loved my Dad’s Sunday morning Chilaquiles surprise breakfasts; my Mom’s Calabasitas and my step-Mom’s Adobo. Hmmm… I’m getting hungry already! And I see future scrapbook pages with these treasured recipes being featured!

Are there any family recipes you loved as a kid and make now for yourself or your family? Do you have a collection of recipes to hand down to your kids? I’d love to hear about it, so please share in the comments!

One of my favorite parts about scrapbooking, journaling in particular, is sharing about my past, wrapping it up in our present, and givingΒ my girls bits and pieces so they canΒ continue with the good stuff with their familiesΒ in the distant future!Β Do you think it’ll work?

  3. I love smoothies. Love the thick ones with a lot of flavour. As a kid, I loved eating fairy bread – butter on bread sprinkled with colourful hundreds of thousands. That scrapbook looks out of this world. Lots of colour and patterns made with love πŸ™‚
