Have you jumped on the Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday trends on social media? They sure are fun to see!

Seeing those older photos got me thinking about how differently we capture and photograph life now as opposed to when I was a kid. I have pictures of my girls doing lots of crafts, playdates, dancing, and general life, of course! But my mind led me down the path trying to remember what kind of cards I made as a kid. I don’t have any of those Crayola rainbow and heart cards I made as a kid to share today, but I do have some of the first cards I made (and photographed) before my blog cameย out!ย Oldies, but goodies…

These were quite simple cards I made back in 2011-2012, but they were definitely made with love and gratitude for my loved ones โค

On a side note: this might sound silly, but the photographer in me is thinking I need to use my nifty-fifty lens a bit more – loving the clarity and DOF on these cards ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Beautiful design and craft work Connie. I agree with your statement of using prime lenses and I use it my self not enough. Maybe it’s a combination of to lazy to change it and to protective to not get any dust onto the sensor. But the photos with primes are better no question. Maybe we should let the zoom locked in at home and go out only with 1 or 2 primes instead of the inverse. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Such a pretty collection of colorful cards! I like TBT. I don’t join in regularly, but every once in a while…:)

    • I love it, too, Linda, but rarely shoot with it. I actually broke my 1.8 and upgraded to the 1.4, but still don’t use it as often as I should. I have so many photog friends that shoot with prime lenses exclusively. When I see these shots, it’s such a great reminder to get that lens out again!
