Usingย a diptych, whether to tell a story, to show details, to show a comparison, scale or sequence, is fabulous to help convey an idea, or to plant the seed to new ideas…
What do these say to you? What dialogue is taking place between the images? Do you hear a story?
Thanks for the inspiration,ย Frรฉdรฉric Biverย and Daily Post! I sure do loveย breathing new life into images from years gone by…

This is wonderfully creative Connie. I especially like the second pairing of the tree roots and coffee mug. Excellent!

Well done! I love the play between the pictures. And, though I understand in the first pairing the ingredients with the finished product… at first glance I thought the bowl was a mug of milk which also would have been a good pairing. ๐

Ooh, fabulous idea! Might just have to implement that with afternoon treats when my girls come home from school! Thanks for the love and suggestion ๐

Very creative contributions. I myself played more from the perspective of pure juxtaposition, which in some ways was easier for me to do. Your images work almost narratively together to create a dialogue which is fabulous and I suspect a tougher thing to set up in our heads before taking the pictures … let alone finding a tree root that looked like a teapot. Brilliant!

Thanks so much, Dale! Yes, conceptualizing the images was great fun, but getting the right angles and subjects proved a bit more challenging! Lucky for me, the knotted tree root was right outside my kitchen window, in my backyard in our old home. It caught my attention as I began my studies in photography and proved a wonderful subject ๐ Thanks again for your kind words – always appreciated!

Thanks Grace! That was a Banana Tree in our backyard in our old house. It always shocked me how large the tree grew even with the roots circling like that!
