Photo Fridays & Photo Challenges

My first photography class was Black & White Developing, late 1990’s, at San Diego State University. Loved the process, the thrill of seeing photos develop right before my eyes.

My first DSLR class was January of 2007, just after getting my first DSLR as a push gift when my first daughter was born. There was a wonderful 3 week class at SDSU’s Extended Studies, where I learned to use my camera on manual mode and haven’t changed it since then!

I took classes at former retailer Ritz Camera, in 2009. I took a couple of Tracey Clark’s online classes at Big Picture Classes in 2011.

In 2010, I decided to start taking classes at UCSD’s Extension and enrolled in their photography certification program. After 2-1/2 years and 28 units later, I’ve completed the fantastic program and learned so, so much from the phenomenal instructors I’ve had the pleasure of learning and developing from.

I’ve learned how to use my camera. I’ve learned about depth of field, photoshop, shutter speed, the history of photography and so much more. So with the years of experience, I hope to share some knowledge and skills I’ve picked up along the way with you.

  1. I used to have a darkroom. But that was a long time ago. Now I have digital and I love it. I can go on an hour walk and take 94 pictures. Couldn’t do that with film.
