Welcome to another Make It Monday!
So I have to ask, besides the menu planning, grocery shopping, food prepping, and house cleaning, areย there any other Thanksgiving projects you tackle in preparation for the big day?
Last year, in preparation for Thanksgiving, I decided to make customized place cards /ย gratitude cards that would be combined into a Thank You & Hostess gift for my mother-in-law.
Using various Tim Holtz Distress Inks (products listed below), blending tools and stamps, I created these adorable tags, and even went as far as to customize each one with every guests’ name. As family members saw the tags and commented on them, I asked them to write out a note of gratitude to our amazing and lovely hostess. I was so happy everyone lovingly embraced the opportunity to share their thoughts and we even read our notes aloud โค
In preparation for a class I was teaching the dayย after our return from our Thanksgiving holiday, I had taken a bin of crafting supplies to work on while visiting for the week. In the bin, I had packed the supplies needed to make these tags. It really would be easy to travel with, even on an airplane!

I have a bunch of oak-tag tags waiting for a purpose. They’re big, but that suits me fine. I love the idea of recording what everyone is grateful for and turning that into a hostess gift. Now I need to learn about Distress Ink.

I love your place cards! I might try those. In my home, I have what is affectionately called – Thanksgivingpalooza. My large Italian family gathers at my home and many of them stay for a few days. We go black friday shopping together, than go to a movie on saturday. Even with all the kids getting older, we still manage a few days. It’s absolutely insane – but terrific fun. Thanks for the great ideas.
Happy Holidays!
