There’s a great restaurant, The Glass Door, that my husband and I have been to a few times in San Diego’s Little Italy. We’ve been there for brunch, so maybe that’s why I never noticed these hanging lanterns until our most recent trip! We popped in our first evening after checking in to our hotel, and I was mesmerized by the beauty of the lanterns. When I asked the bartender if they were new, he said they were the only original fixtures in the restaurant. I haven’t been able to find any history, but they’re gorgeous nonetheless!
The manager, Shervin, was kind enough to let me take these images. It was after a long day of photographing an anniversary party, but I couldn’t resist spending a few minutes to grab these shots. I loved all the colors, shapes and clusters. It always amazes me when I finally notice something that’s gone unnoticed, right under my nose, or in this case, right over my head! I guess I’ve been too busy enjoying the view of Little Italy and the San Diego marina, as well as the bottomless mimosas. Yum!
Thanks for stopping by and have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
Live creatively!
xoxo,
