I’ve been playing along with Katrina Kennedy’s Capture Your 365 over the last week or so, and I am LOVING the inspiration! Okay, truth be told, I’ve been receiving the daily prompts for months and months. I loved reading Katrina’s tips and daily inspiration. I just hadn’t taken the time to make shooting a daily part of life. More like once or twice a week. But after reading one of Katrina’s posts about the collective story our photos tell.. well, I’ll let you read her post here, and you can feel the same inspiration and creative pull I felt too. And after seeing the entire list of prompts for the month, I just decided to go ahead and jump in when I could.

Today’s prompt was SIMPLE, and the photo example of paper with light and shadows reminded me of a photo I saw years ago that I always loved – a heart shaped from pages in a book. Maybe it was an image by Katrina Kennedy? Maybe it was by Tracey Clark? I don’t recall, but I absolutely LOVED the way it looked. As I was setting up the shot, my daughters came into the frame and started hugging, then my 6 year old started carrying my 4 year old (not that you can even see that!). Regardless, it just came together better than this mama could’ve wanted : )
