Yesterday’s prompt from Katrina Kennedy at Capture Your 365 was “Photograph From Down Under” and when I saw this prickly, pokey, thorny, interesting tree trunk, I knew I had to get a shot! And quite perfect that it fits in with the Perspective theme over at The Daily Post weekly photo challenge. Serendipity!
As I was shooting, I knew what I wanted, but then started playing a bit with getting flare in the shot. What do you think? Do you like the portrait shot with dappled light and blue sky? Or do you prefer the shot with the sunburst and flare?
In February, our focus in in Katrina’s “Practice” class was aperture and one of the lessons had us play with sunbursts and flare. If you haven’t checked out the class yet, you really should! This month we focus on shutter speed – can’t wait to dive into the lessons. Learning so much in this year long class : )
Did you play along with The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Perspective? Check out other “perspectives” here. Or peruse my previous photo challenge submissions here!
As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
PS. If you’re interested in learning more about “Practice” with Katrina Kennedy, creator and founder of Capture Your 365, I highly recommend it! Seriously loving it so far! The lesson also includes a monthly webinar with a photo critique – so totally worth it!
