I’m sharing another crafty creation! Cards in back-to-back posts?! Not typical, but I couldn’t wait to share this one! I’ve been wanting to play with watercolors, and I’ve seen Tim Holtz do the watercolor effects using the water brush pen and his distress inks, so I decided to stop “wanting” and just “do” it! {Notice that “Just Do It” has been a theme in my life lately? If you missed the blog tour where 26 bloggers (including moi) shared our “lessons learned” from April Bowles of Blacksburg Belle’s CreativeLive class, check out my post here. And check out April’s post too – she has a contest where lucky winners will get their hands on some of her tools – marketing for creatives and blogging goodies – just for commenting!}
Back to this yummy watercolored card… You’ll see in the video how easy it was to do. Seriously. Super. Duper. Easy. And aren’t the colors delish? I was inspired by a few of my favorite sites, including: Fusion Challenge, Two Peas in a Bucket June Mood Board and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Have you checked out the True Stamp 2014 classes yet? Many of the techniques, tips, tricks and ideas I’ve picked up along the way as a crafter, I’ve learned in classes and videos. Some videos (like mine) will focus on one project or technique, but honestly, the ones I’ve learned the most from are classes with more meat, like the True Stamp classes! They’re on sale RIGHT NOW, and each class is only $9, or you can get all six classes for only $39 using code “SAVEBIG” at checkout – talk about a bargain!! Don’t miss out!!
Each class focused on a different aspect of stamping and offered lots of samples in the class, demonstrating how each was created. The girls from Lawn Fawn created the most adorable interactive cards; Raisin Boat had some yumminess that blew my mind; Mama Elephant was rockin’ and rollin; sheesh, truly – they were all amazing! If you’ve considered taking classes, do yourself a favor and check out True Stamp 2014 classes here!
As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day! And if you haven’t signed-up for the Clicky Chick Creates email list yet, whatcha waiting for? You’ll get “7 Must-Have Kid Birthday Photos” printable photo tips as my thank you 🙂 Password is sent to you when you sign up for the email list!

WOW! I couldn’t believe it when you said you’d created this with watercolors! It is blended so beautifully and made me give a huge kudos to you for your watercoloring skills! I love the colors you chose and how the whole thing looks like dreamy sherbet ice cream. It’s also the perfect backdrop for those gorgeous butterflies and I like how you made the white images be the focal point. Stunning card from front to back and I’m so glad you shared it with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!

Beautiful card! I’m thinking my gelatos might work the same way? They are a new toy…

Thanks Libby! Yes, your gelatos will definitely work! I used them on these projects (with videos!)

Even though I used my fingers and water mister instead of a brush and water in a cup, they definitely did the job! I’d love to see what you create 😉
