Contrasts // Handful of Sunshine {Photo Challenge}

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // handful of sunshine, silhouette

Meeting up with photog-friends for a walk and some drinks earlier this week gave me the opportunity to capture this silhouette of my lovely friend Jennifer. She is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out!

We were playing around with some shots of each other with the sun on our faces, when I noticed the fabulous opportunity for a silhouette. Jen was a great sport cupping her hand to catch that handful of sunshine! There were lots of buildings and distractions, so it took a little work to get the right angle. I think she had a double arm workout that day… thanks Jen!

  1. Wonderful photo! I think maybe I don’t have the patience required for great photographs…

    • Thanks Libby! When getting this shot I has in my minds eye, it took a bit of maneuvering to get the right pose and angle. But most images aren’t this specific πŸ™‚ Taking photography classes and more importantly taking the time to practice behind the lens makes it faster and easier when I’m shooting away!

  2. I think the photo is amazing. Silhouettes are the best for illustrating contrasts but I find them very hard to capture so I stick to what I’m good at: pics of nature or people taken in bright sunlight. Good job, and loved the description about your friend πŸ™‚ Here’s my abstract take on the challenge – enjoy, and share your thoughts with me as well.
