Remember the part of the American Pie movie where the girl (Alyson Hannigan) is always saying “One time, at band camp…”? Yeah, I sometimes feel like thatΒ when I share photos from my 2013 trip to France. But as a wife and mom with lots of day-to-day obligations, it was a pretty amazing trip! The last big trip with girlfriends before that was back in 2003 to New York, and I didn’t even have a DSLR camera back then!
So I guess I’ll just have to embrace theΒ catchphrase…
One time, in France… my friends and I had the most exquisite private tour of a few of the villages along the South of France. Our adventure included a tour of the South of France, including Nice, Monaco, Ese Village and more. One of the villages (photographed above), St. Paul de Vence – had fantastic shopping, food, architecture and views. You can find out more about the village hereΒ or even better, you can find our entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide Katherine Coppex here. I can’t wait to share these experiences with my daughters when they’re a tad bit older!
Photo Tip: While traveling, go beyond photos of local tourist attractions –Β get yourself in the shots too! Get a phone selfie, a camera selfie or ask a travel companion to take the photo with you in it! You’ll be glad you did, especially years later when perusing those images! {Click to Tweet}

I love exploring side streets in old cities. The day the cruise ship I was on docked in Mykons must have been a lucky fluke because the island was really quiet that day π

Oh, lucky duck! I lived on a Greek Isle (Ios) summer of 1995, but didn’t get to Santorini or Mykonos. I wish I would’ve made it to both while I was so close!

Thank you so very much for your considerate nomination! As much as I appreciate your kindness, I must decline the award as Clicky Chick Creates is an award-free blog. Thanks for the love and sweet thought!

Nice photo – the south of France is beautiful. We’ve been there once for three days and I look forward to going back one day. So many places to visit with only so much time! Good advice on adding to the adventure and getting in the picture – I have too many photos of places and not enough of people – great advice!

Thanks Clay! I keep finding the same in my photos too! So many times I don’t want to “ruin” the shot by being in it, but looking back I so wish I had a better balance between scenery and me with loved ones π

Thanks Libby! Is it weird that my eye has developed mostly from studying ads in magazines and catalogs?! π
