I love birthdays. And cake. And making cards. And things that are a little off and make you take a second look. Yup, um-hmm.

Welcome to another MaKe iT MoNdAY! I’m so excited to share another card with you today, one totally inspired by the new Top Dog Dies, the Make a Cake die set to be exact!

When I saw the adorable die, I loved that it had a banner to go with it! Talk about being on trend! Along with the banner, the die includes 2 skewers for perfect placement of the banner atop the cake!

I took two layers of the cake and ended up making the top layer just a touch smaller. I cut the cake layer out the first time, then adjusted the die over, exposing about an inch of the cake. I love how cute it turned out! I was feeling inspired by Alice in Wonderland, so I wanted the cake to feel a little topsy-turvy and the colors to reflect the eclecticism.

The details really couldn’t be any cuter! Check out the flames on the candles – perfection!

So many times I try to squeeze too much into my day and end up feeling like the White Rabbit in Alice… “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date!” What’s your favorite Alice character?
