Have you ever been to the Louvre in Paris? The treasures and inspiration there can be overwhelming! I’ve been there several times and still haven’t seen all there is to see. I think I could be there for a week straight and not see it all.
On this particular day, I was inspired and in awe of all the wings and textures and photographed a few…
While walking through the museum, heading down the stairs from one world of inspiration to the next, I was struck by the glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world of restoring found treasures for display in the museum. How amazing would it be to work on these relics and bring them to the world to view? Aww, the dream lives of archeologists and art conservationists…

Beautiful! π Was there a charge for taking photos?

Nope, no additional charge for taking photos, just admittance fee to get into the museum : ) Luckily, the Louvre still allows photos. Some of the museums, churches and historical landmarks no longer allow photography as many were not following the “no flash” rule. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Amy! I totally agree with you! And what always amazes me is the artists talent to sculpt it as if it was a piece of butter – they manipulate it’s hardness to look so fluid and soft. Ahh, can’t wait to go back!

A lovely series. The restoration images show how daunting that must be. Thanks for the trip to the Louvre.

Absolutely Jann! When I saw the zoned off area and the restoration project, my mind started to wander on the details and treasures they’re lucky to work on… Then my mind really took me for a doozy considering the careers I never even considered as a kid!

The Louvre – but maybe it is better to say all of Paris – is worthwhile to return and return to again. Being away 3 hours on train nowadays helps. I love the shots of the statues from very sensitive to firm in colour.

How fortunate you are, Chris, to be just a train ride away from so much beauty! I hope you’re able to enjoy it often π

When visiting the Louvre, one does get a little overwhelmed with all the works on show, and of the building itself! I think I need another visit! Thanks for bringing back some lovely memories. π
