It’s a new year, and with it comes new goals, resolutions, hopes and dreams!

On New Year’s Eve, my family and I spent a relaxing and lovely evening at home, eating, dancing, playing a board game and talking about our resolutions. My girls are 8 and 5 (5-and-a-half, to be more precise!), so the goals included sharing and helping, which were really sweet to hear ❤

One of the goals we all discussed was being healthier, and since it was a beautiful morning, we decided to head out as a family and hike a trail! Before kids, my husband and I loved doing that more frequently, but it had been way too long for either of us! It was beautiful and our girls really loved the outing.

Does the photo of the 5 of us look familiar? I posted it last week, right after new year’s, and was prompted to take the photo from the “Good Morning” prompt at Capture Your 365. I knew immediately I wanted to create a scrapbook layout with our family selfie! Most of my pages are of my girls, but one of my goals for this year is to get my husband and I on the pages a bit more frequently 🙂

I knew exactly the paper I wanted to use for the layout – it was kraft and had clouds all over it. I searched my stash and suddenly I realized I didn’t have it. Did I think I had bought it but really didn’t? Nope. I had bought it. Turns out I had already used that paper! Oops! So, I found another cloud paper I loved and decided to make my own cloud paper to complement it. I used a stencil, blending tool and white ink. Easy, peasy!

Wanna see how I made the cloud background paper? Check out my video! And I’ll have a full process video up later this week sharing how the entire layout came together!

Although this layout is about our family goals, I’m also working through some personal goals. One of those is to create a scrapbook layout weekly! Yes, you read that right! I have lots of stories to share and want to get them down on paper before they’re forgotten. Other goals involve growing my blog and businesses. So expect more here at Clicky Chick Creates! More routine posting, series posts, more tutorials, too! Some will focus on crafting, some on photography. I’m excited and hope you are too! Are there are any specific questions you have or posts you’d like to see? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Great page! I love the ‘Do what makes you happy’. I get bogged down in things I have to do and forget sometimes to spend time doing the things that make me happy – like scrapping!!
