Capturing extended families together brings me so much joy!

When you think about how America was founded, it was individuals and families leaving their loved ones behind to bravely travel, plant themselves in foreign land, and grow roots. So although it’s been happening for as long as time, I know it’s hard to see our loved ones move away, whether it’s out of the neighborhood, out of state or to a foreign country. Nowadays, so many families have loved ones scattered across the country, or even across the globe. And that’s especially when I love being a photographer, and being asked to capture family portraits while all the loved ones are in one spot!

I was ecstatic when the M family contacted me for a multi-generation family photo session. The love, joy and camaraderie between all the family was lovely to see! We did get lucky with the San Diego sunshine, but boy-oh-boy was it cold that day! I know we can’t really complain, but really, for San Diego? It was freezing cold! The entire family were troopers and we kept trucking along with jackets and hugs for warming up between shots!

I loved the session and hope the M family did as well! Happy New Year!
