I have a lot to be thankful for in life. My family, my health, my faith, my community, my friends and my village! Back in 2007, our neighbors and friends invited us to their baby boy’s baptism. My husband and I were pretty new at the parenting gig as we had our first baby girl, who was about 6 months old at the time. We were not actively attending church or involved in our faith, but we eagerly went to the baptism. I knew immediately that I belonged in that church. My heart was touched and my faith was reawakened. Since then, we’ve been active members of our catholic church and sometimes it even feels like a second home!
One of the ways I like to give back to the church is through donating photo packages to the annual gala as part of the fund-raising for our church. And when parishioners bid on those packages, everyone wins! The church raises money, the parishioner gets a photo session and a tax benefit, and I get to work with a family from church! That’s exactly what happened with the Amsberry family, and we had a blast at the beach capturing these shots!
I’m always in awe of parents who have more than two kids. And when they’re all teens? I’m forever impressed when they’re courteous, respectful, fun, smart, outgoing and genuinely love their family. Let me just say, this family was all of that and more! They’re a super sweet and beautiful family and I hope they loved the experience!
