What’s for Breakfast? {Photo Tip}

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // breakfast with berries, yogurt, granola, honeyIt’s summertime, well really, it’s kind of a perpetual summer in San Diego, but I digress… It’s summertime and it’s a great time to enjoy the flavors of the season, but more importantly the time with my girls. No crazy rush-rush-get-out-the-door schedules to adhere to, so it’s a perfect time to linger in the kitchen prepping breakfast with a little extra love.

Our breakfast parfaits include layers of: Greek yogurt, honey, fresh cut berries, granola, and repeat the layers again!

Photo Tip: When photographing food, be sure to get nice and close (as close as your lens will focus), like you’re about to take a bite through your lens!

What changes about your meals or your schedule in general over summer? I’d love to hear, so let me know in the comments!

Butterfly Snacks? Oh, Yeah!

I saw butterfly snacks on Pinterest, and knew I had to make them for my daughter’s Daisy Troop! How cute are these?!

To make them, use sandwich size baggies – fill it with about 1/4 grapes, making sure to keep them on one side of the bag. Fill the other half with crackers (goldfish, Ritz, Cheez-Its, etc). Use a decorated clothes pin to cinch the bag up the middle, folding back the closure.

To decorate the clothes pins, you need the following:

All I did was firmly swipe the clothes pin across the multi-colored ink pad. Pinch the pipe cleaner to form a V shape. Using the thin point of a pencil, wrap the edges of the pipe cleaner to form curls in the antennas. Use the tacky glue to adhere the antennas to the clothes pin. Let it dry for a few hours (or overnight if you can). Draw a smiley face, or better yet, if you have small googly eyes, glue those on : )

That’s it! Your little ones will love these and it’s totally worth the minimal effort!
