We “dyed” Easter eggs today! My girls and I wanted to make a “Happy Easter” banner, so we poked around Pinterest to get our creative juices flowing. We found lots of banners with egg shaped panels. So when I went to start pulling patterned cardstock, I remembered I had a pack of Heidi Swapp Color Magic Resist paper that I hadn’t used yet. I love using stencils/templates (or “stemplates” as Lain Ehmann calls ’em!) with Dylusions Spray Inks and usually make my own patterned paper. But remembering the Heidi Swapp pack I had gave me the idea to “dye” my own eggs!
Using my Slice e-cutter and Dilly Dally design card, I cut 4″ eggs from three different patterned Heidi Swapp papers; using the Basic Shapes 3 design card, I cut 3″ letters from brown cardstock. I chalked the edges of the letters using VersaMagic Chalk Ink in Cloud White and added Ice Stickles in Strawberry Ice.
WIth Dylusions Sprays in Fresh Lime, Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange, Vibrant Turquoise, and Bubblegum Pink, I dyed our eggs! Added some washi tape, and using foam dots adhered the letters to the eggs. Twine and mini clothes pins finished the look and our banner panels/eggs were now ready to be displayed!
Thanks for stopping by and have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
Live creatively!
xoxo,
