Yes, I really did it… I made a banner for my Brownies to use in their cookie booth to help with cookie sales! Welcome to another Make It Monday! I hope this weekly dose of inspiration is a fun way to kick off your week!

If you’re in the US, you may have noticed cute Girl Scouts around your community selling the yummy, seasonal Girl Scout Cookies at booths around your local grocery stores? Our troop was out there, too! So of course I had to make a cute banner for our girls to use in their sales efforts!

I love when I’m able to use tools on hand to create a look I’m going for, without buying new supplies. Making the banner was a breeze using the tools listed below. I wanted to add a cookie look, so I used my handy-dandy chevron stamp and Walnut Stain Distress Ink on a scalloped circle die cut to create a look similar to Samoas, the tasty toasted coconut, caramel and chocolate cookie. I think I pulled it off! What do you think?

What unexpected look have you been able to pull off using supplies on hand? I’d love to hear! It’s always fun to use my stash in unusual ways, creating a look I wanted, but didn’t have the obvious tool! Like using a swirl embossing folder to create lambs for a banner. Or a snow marker to create crashing ocean waves. Fun stuff!
