Christmas Snowman Card {Top Dog Dies}

Yesterday I shared a little peek of the Snowman Card I made for the new winter release over at Top Dog Dies. And here it is in all it’s glory!

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // stitched Snowman card on snowflake background using Top Dog Dies,

I used 3 of the new dies on this card. I love that the dies all coordinate so beautifully together, making crafting a breeze! For this card, I used the Top Dog Dies Snowman Die Set, the Top Dog Dies Penguin Die Set, and the Top Dog Dies Snowflake Mosaic Die Set.

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // stitched Snowman card on snowflake background using Top Dog Dies, Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // stitched Snowman card on snowflake background using Top Dog Dies,

From the Penguin Die Set, I used the stitched sloping hillsides – seriously just adore all those little details! And the best part is that you don’t have to use dies for only cards. They’re great for gift tags, scrapbook layouts, planner embellishments, you can even make ornaments! The options really are endless 🙂

I have a few more Christmas / winter / holiday themed cards I’ll be sharing throughout the month. I hope you’re inspired to check out Top Dog Dies and find some goodies you can’t live without!

As always, thanks for stopping by my little colorful spot on the web! Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day! And make sure you’re on the Clicky Chick Creates email list so you don’t miss a thing! Sign up here!

Make It Monday // Snowman Card Peek {Top Dog Dies}

MakeItMondayButton-Christmas2Welcome to another Make It Monday! In southern California, we’ve had quite a bit of a heat wave, but this morning was rather cool and even a little drizzly. It felt fabulous! It was the first time it’s felt like anything but summer over here. Even though it was a tiny tease of fall, I had to run over to Trader Joe’s and buy everything pumpkin I could get my hands on 🙂 Feeling so festive, what a perfect time to share a sneak peek of a card using the new winter dies from Top Dog Dies!

TDD_CH_Winter-Snowman_1853

I actually used several die sets for this card. Three to be exact! The dies are all fantastic and I love layering different elements to create unique cards. The new dies will be released tomorrow, so I’ll be back with lots of details tomorrow about all the yumminess on the card!

This is a little different from most Make it Monday posts, but I promise to be back tomorrow with all the details on making this card! As always, thanks for stopping by my little colorful spot on the web! Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!

Make It Monday // Sugar Skull Gift Tag

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Sugar Skulls gift tag using Top Dog Dies,

MakeItMondayCircle-FALL2015Welcome to another Make It Monday! It’s been too long, I know! My hard drive died, for the 3rd time since March (yes, it’s true, and every time has been painful!), and it completely has thrown my schedule off. But, I’m back, and hopefully without any other technical snafus!

Have you checked out the Top Dog Dies fall dies yet? They are absolutely adorable! I thought it would be so fun to make this Sugar Skull decorative tag for a teacher gift. My girls have amazing teachers and this is just a small thoughtful gift. I can’t wait to gift them soon.

To make the gift tag, I used the Top Dog Dies Sugar Skull die set with some fun patterned and glitter paper, and sequins. I was going to use some flower sequins for the eyes, but they were a bit small. Luckily, the Top Dog Dies Pretty Petals #2 die set were the perfect size for the eyes.

Hand drawing a little decorative flair on the skull forehead and outlining the nose gives it a little more artsy look, with minimal effort.

I filled a glass jar with some Hot Tamales candies and thought the combination was fun, especially for our teachers 🙂 It really was an easy project, but I love the punch that it has! I hope you’re inspired to make a custom sugar skull gift tag for someone special this spooky time of year!

Make It Monday // More Lunch Box Notes! {Top Dog Dies}

MakeItMondayCircle-RED-CORAL-MAYWelcome to another Make It Monday! A few weeks ago I shared a fun Make It Monday posts where I made some Lunch Box Love Notes. I loved making them and the feedback was great from you! So I decided to make a second batch – with different Top Dog Dies, just as adorable as the Cupcakes I made in the first batch!

TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9748

My girls are entering third and first grades. As glorious as I might think it is to be a kid, I know there will be days that might be a little tough in their classrooms or on the playground, so hopefully these little notes will put smiles on their sweet faces!

TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9751 TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9771 TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9775

I used several die sets from Top Dog Dies: the Flamingo Die Set, the Hot Air Balloon Die Set, the Unicorn Die set, and the Flip Flops Die Set. They are all so cute! The details, particularly the stitched details, make these some of my favorites!

TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9760 TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9763 TDD_CH_LaminatedNotes_9766

I die cut all the pieces from different papers, and I cut the backgrounds from Avery Elle 6×6 Happy paper pad. After glueing each set onto it’s background card, I hand lettered a few words of encouragement. Then I laminated the cards and plan to hand write a little note on the back with a Sharpie pen. From what I’ve read online, I’ll be able to remove sharpie using hand sanitizer, nail polish remover or a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser! I’ll come back with an update once I’ve tried it!

Make It Monday // You Make Me Happy {Top Dog Dies}

MakeItMondayCircle-RED-CORAL-MAY

Welcome to another Make it Monday! I’m loving being part of the Top Dog Dies team and creating something fun every week!. The dies are adorable, they’re sized perfectly for so many projects – from cards to scrapbook layouts to itty bitty lunch box love notes!

For today’s post, I really wanted to use the Rainbow Die Set, along with the Pretty Petals #2 Die Set. I had the idea of a rainbow spilling out into an explosive rainbow of flowers! Both of these dies were perfect for the card and made it a breeze to create!

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // rainbow and flowers card using Top Dog Dies, rainbow explosion,

I used 6×6″ paper pads – the small patterns on small pads are perfect for cards! Avery Elle Happy Collection, Lawn Fawn Happy Day Collection, and a few pieces of scrap paper brought this all together beautifully!

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // rainbow and flowers card using Top Dog Dies, rainbow explosion,

I stamped the Avery Elle sentiment using Versamark and embossing powder, and heat set it for a pretty glossy look.

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // rainbow and flowers card using Top Dog Dies, rainbow explosion,

Before I glued everything down, I laid it out so I could figure out spacing. I definitely recommend doing that and starting from one corner and working your way in. Trust me 🙂

Make It Monday // Alice-esque Cake Card {Top Dog Dies}

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Cake birthday card using Top Dog Dies, Alice in Wonderland birthday cake card

I love birthdays. And cake. And making cards. And things that are a little off and make you take a second look. Yup, um-hmm.

MakeItMondayCircle-RED-CORAL-MAYWelcome to another MaKe iT MoNdAY! I’m so excited to share another card with you today, one totally inspired by the new Top Dog Dies, the Make a Cake die set to be exact!

When I saw the adorable die, I loved that it had a banner to go with it! Talk about being on trend! Along with the banner, the die includes 2 skewers for perfect placement of the banner atop the cake!

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Cake birthday card using Top Dog Dies, Alice in Wonderland birthday cake card

I took two layers of the cake and ended up making the top layer just a touch smaller. I cut the cake layer out the first time, then adjusted the die over, exposing about an inch of the cake. I love how cute it turned out! I was feeling inspired by Alice in Wonderland, so I wanted the cake to feel a little topsy-turvy and the colors to reflect the eclecticism.

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Cake birthday card using Top Dog Dies, Alice in Wonderland birthday cake card Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Cake birthday card using Top Dog Dies, Alice in Wonderland birthday cake cardThe details really couldn’t be any cuter! Check out the flames on the candles – perfection!

So many times I try to squeeze too much into my day and end up feeling like the White Rabbit in Alice… “I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date!” What’s your favorite Alice character?

MakeItMondayCircle-RED-CORAL-MAYBe sure to continue the Make It Monday circle and head on over and maybe have a cup of coffee with Alison at Day Designs. She’s showing how she used a new card kit until it was all gone. Good to the last drop isn’t just for coffee anymore!

As always, thanks for stopping by my little colorful spot on the web! Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!
