Rey & Gina Beach Engagement {Photo Session}

What’s the best thing about being a photographer? All the special occasions and moments I’m able to capture for lifelong memories, like this engagement session of this gorgeous couple…

So this adorable couple is beyond special to me… that handsome dude? That’s my baby brother! And that beautiful girl? That’s his adorable fiancé who is my crafty-sister, from-another-mister! I don’t wanna get all mushy, but Oh-My-Goodness, I sure do love these two!

Our entire family was thrilled when they got engaged a few months ago and the couple and I have been discussing photos since then. We finally had the opportunity to get together for these shots last week. Gina had a great vision of what she wanted, so off we went to the beach in search of a donkey pony. We actually planned for a few more shots with a second setting, but a storm was rolling in quickly, we were freezing and decided to call it done! And the floral head wreath she’s wearing? She made it! Yup, we stopped at a little flower shop on our way home earlier in the day to get some props and she had the idea to make the head wreath. Isn’t it beautiful? Told you she’s crafty!

So we actually had two photo sessions, but you’ll have to wait until April 15th to see my post about the other session : ) Be sure to come back and see what fun we had during our morning Mercado session!

As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!

Family Habits {Photo Challenge}

Where in the world did the weekend go? It’s Tuesday, almost Wednesday already?! This is nuts! I’ve been wanting to write this post since Friday morning, but I’ve been blessed with teaching classes, photographing clients, and editing gorgeous family photos, and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to focus on the blog…

The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Habit seemed easy enough, but when I thought of habits, I couldn’t help but giggle a little thinking of our habits as a family. Take my baby for example… she LOVES to dress up. It’s rare that she goes an entire day without several wardrobe changes. And besides wardrobe, she rarely leaves the house without wearing a tiara! Yes, a tiara… that’s my girl!

My first born baby, well, she loves to come in the kitchen when I’m cooking and grab “samples” of what’s on the menu, or better yet, the ingredient list! Luckily, she usually asks before grabbing, and knows not to go near a knife in motion. She’s such a good, healthy eater!

My hubby? He’s an amazing guitar player! Besides the awesome songs he’s written for me and my girls, he’s really great at playing covers and I love seeing my girls rock out with him! The girls will either dance like maniacs, sing their hearts out, or grab additional instruments and jam with their Daddy! One of my favorite nights at home recently included margaritas, my hubby on the guitar, and belting out Pearl Jam’s “Last Kiss,” a definite favorite around here. Seriously, what’s not to love?!

And my habit, which I’m slowly, and little by little, turning into a daily habit, is crafting. I love using inks, stencils, Washi tape and all the other supplies in my craft room, I’m sure you’ve noticed some of my crafty posts here! There is something very fulfilling about taking a blank canvas and creating a beautiful new project! And the fact that my girls love getting crafty too? That just means I get to enjoy it that much more : )

What kind of habits are you documenting? Are you playing along with the Daily Post? I’d love to see!

As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!

Hue of You // Pink {Photo Challenge}

Color has a way of making me feel happy or sophisticated or playful or overwhelmed or optimistic or a myriad of other emotions. But one color that always makes me happy and makes me think of how lucky I am to have two very girly daughters… PINK! It’s funny how a prompt can make you think of colors in such a different way!

Maybe it was the Mediterranean air, maybe it was the drizzly, gray skies, maybe it was the bubbly we enjoyed daily! Whatever it was, the flowers at the Farmer’s Market in Nice were absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t help but want to linger, take in the sights, the scents, the beauty.

So take a deep cleansing breathe, relax and take in the colors and soft texture of these beautiful flowers from Nice!

Can a Picture Really be Worth a 1,000 Words?

Image

Have you ever scrapbooked a page with no words? Let me tell you, if you haven’t, you should! It’s a challenge, but made me realize how important it is to capture images that can tell a story all on their own.

Here we are, a week into LOAD213 and I am loving it so far! Creating a layout a day means getting photos off my hard drive, onto beautiful pages for my girls, friends and family to enjoy. I get to play with paper, mists, washi tape, glue, all kinds of goodness!

Every day for the entire month, our fearless Continue reading
