Mother’s Day Card {Feeling Crafty}

ClickyChickCreates.com // Mother's Day card using Hero Arts stencil / mask, Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China, punches, embossing, stamping and more!

I’ve been blessed with three Mom’s in my life: my mama-mama, my step-mama and my mama-in-law. Each has helped shape me into the person I am today, and for that I will always be grateful! Yes, even my MIL – can you believe she’s been in my life for 23 years? How can that be considering I still sometimes think (and act!) like I’m in my 20’s?!

Anywho, I designed this Mother’s Day card to send to all the mamas and I sure do hope they like them! Are you ready for Sunday? If you haven’t made your card(s) yet, there’s still time! What’s the old saying our mamas always said? “Better late than never!”

In case you haven’t made a card yet, I even made a video showing the process. Go ahead – give it a try!

Forgot to mention that I had planned to use the entire label that was stamped, but then realized it was too wide for the jar. The Fiskars Oval ‘n Oval Again punch came to the rescue!

As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a joyful, creative, blessing filled day!

Totally inspired by the Fusion Challenge! And coincidentally pretty spot-on for the ColourQKeep It SimpleA Blog Named Hero, Crafting Musketeers challenges, too!

I stumbled on the quote over at ParisLux blog and have used it on a layout as well. LOVE the quote!!

And for any of you like-minded and like-hearted crafty types, be sure to check out the TrueStamp event coming up April 5th. I was on a fabulous girls trip to Paris last year when True Stamp 2013 was live, but I registered for the class knowing I would have access to the replays. Let me tell you… TOTALLY worth it! I still watch the replays for techniques and inspiration and am already excited for True Stamp 2014!! Sign up for the early bird info list and maybe the super-fantastic Lain Ehmann and her team will send you an early bird discount code! Seriously, if you’re at all crafty or want to be crafty… don’t miss out!

Jar of Dreams Layout {Feeling Crafty}

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Jar of Dreams layout with butterflies, bucket list, life goals

We’re more than halfway through LOAD214, a fantastic month long challenge of creating a layout a day. The prompts that Lain Ehmann and her team send out are fantastic, thought provoking and always a great way to document many of our photos and stories.

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Jar of Dreams layout with butterflies, bucket list, life goals

I’ve taken part in many LOADs since 2011, and occasionally there is a prompt where we are challenged to create a page not using a photo. Say what? Yup, you heard it right… NO photo! The very first time I heard this prompt I was dumb-founded. Um, the reason I got into scrapbooking was to do something with the photos I was taking. All 200 million* of them!

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Jar of Dreams layout with butterflies, bucket list, life goals

To create a page without photos sounded so opposite of what I was hoping to accomplish, but I trusted the process and went with it. This time around was no different. About a year ago I had stumbled upon a “Life List” blog post from the creator of the Epiphanie camera bag and it stuck in my mind. Without a doubt, that post definitely inspired my layout!

Connie Hanks Photography // ClickyChickCreates.com // Jar of Dreams layout with butterflies, bucket list, life goals

My twist on it was getting my families contributions along with my own dreams. My 43 yr old hubby, my 7 yr old daughter and 4 yr old daughter – you can guess who suggested what – some might surprise you! Do you have a life list, bucket list or jar of dreams written out somewhere that you keep for easy reference and inspiration? Let me know – I’d love to hear!
