Newborns through Sweet Me Photography
I’m thrilled to announce I now offer newborn photography EXCLUSIVELY through Sweet Me Photography! We offer beautiful and affordable in-home newborn photography services and bring the studio to you! We make it easy for mom, dad and baby, by bringing the studio experience to your home!
To book your session, please visit www.SweetMePhotography.com and be sure to add my name “Connie Hanks” to the “how did you hear about us” section of the inquiry form! I look forward to capturing this tender and amazing time in your sweet newborn’s life!
Styling
Two of the most common questions I receive when someone contacts me about setting up a photography session are: 1. How much for a session? and 2. What should we wear? Now that we’ve gone over pricing, let’s get to the fun stuff! Of course, if you’re taking the time and money to take photos, you want to look your best! Here are my tips to clients when they’re trying to figure out what to wear:
Coordinated, not Matchy-Matchy
I recommend not being too matchy-matchy; pick one neutral and pick one or two colors. Let everyone work with those choices, using various tones in the same color family (ie. purple (lavender to grape) or blue (powder to navy)), along with different fabrics (sweaters, button downs shirts, polos, flowy tops, etc.). Depending on your choices, even adding a 3rd color for accent or pop will work.
Prints/Patterns
Sometimes our kids (or our!) favorite clothing items have prints in them. That’s totally fine! Just try to stay in the same color family you picked and at the very least pick prints that don’t compete with each other. We don’t want the photo to take us back to our Sesame Street days of “which of these 4 does not belong?”!!!
Comfort
The last thing we want at a photo session is to be pulling at our uncomfortable clothes, or readjusting straps and collars that just don’t fit right. As nice as it is to have brand new (read: unstained) clothes in our photos, it’s important to be comfortable. Make sure you’ve had a good fitting before heading to our session. And most importantly pick what makes you and your family feel good GREAT! There are awesome Pinterest boards with lots of inspiration! Here’s my “Wardrobe, Please!” board, and here’s a search for clothing ideas. I look forward to hearing from you to schedule your session!

Connie, It is Michele from CY365 site. Your website is beautiful! I see you use My Four Hens Lightroom presets which one would you suggest I start out with – do you have a favorite that you use most of the time in editing?

Hi Michele! Thanks for visiting and glad you’re finding some goodies! My fave M4H presets is the “Life Inspired” collection. Although I mostly use my own edits and presets, I do love the “helpers” in this set – the boosts they add to images, so to speak! I’m missing webinar tonight, but can’t wait to hear the replay!

Thanks Connie! I’m going to give them a try I will link to them from your site. Missed you at the webinar – was the photo of the restaurant in Coronado or San Diego? I am geographically challenged 🙂

The restaurant is in San Diego – in Seaport Village, a tourist spot near downtown 🙂 I hope you enjoy the M4H presets!
